Savin' her screams for Mom and Dad
Grandma Cindy left a note on the door
She said, "Lisa, you don't have to move back to your house."
All that potential mold can give the baby
A big headache
You oughta know by now
Who needs a house out in Bethesda?
Is that what you get with your money?
It seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
If that's movin' up then we shouldn't be movin' back in.
Steven should never argue with Lisa's sleepless mind
He oughta know by now [but he doesn't -- Lisa]
He can pay Uncle Sam and Gov O'Malley
Is that all you get for your money?
For those of you who like to figure out lyrics, name the song this is so eloquently plagiarized from and the artist.
Here's a hint - the original performing artist of this song had another song parodied by Steven in junior high school - Mrs. Hatinger's geometry class. That song was retitled "We Didn't Start Geometry".
Quiz time is over. Sorry for the delay in updates. After nearly three extremely helpful weeks at the Farley grandparent's house, the environmental consultant gave us permission to return to our house - but to leave the doors closed to the rooms affected by the leak. So, last Saturday, we packed up the Camry and Pop Pop Farley's Jeep to the gills, got in, and.... dead Jeep (after Steven had driven it around all day). The usual suspects were quickly ruled out - battery and gas - but Steven thought rolling the Jeep down to the street onto level ground might help for some reason. So gravity did it's job, but Steven had to haul the Jeep to a stop when he saw a car coming down the street - after he'd started rolling. All that managed to do was get the Jeep stuck square in the middle of the street. The Jeep's nearly 2 1/2 tons was not interested in moving with the measly effort of Steven - as much as he tried to rock it back and forth then grab the steering wheel - use your imagination and it was more comical than that - so the next door neighbor was enlisted to help push it to the curb. However, getting the Jeep on flat ground did nothing. Pop Pop Farley showed up with Steven's car just then, so all the stuff was transferred into the SVT - yes, all - and silence was returned to grandparent's Farley's house. Turns out Steven didn't break the Jeep - it was a computer sensor that is prone to going out but is covered by warranty - after getting towed to the repair shop, it is being repaired as we speak (that is, as I type this message).
We set up shop in the basement, which has turned out to be very comfortable. Melissa is sleeping well (that is, about as well as she was before) in the pack n' play. For those of you who have not seen this fascinating device, it's a portable play pen with an insert for babies that has a vibrate feature, plays music (what children's toy doesn't?) and has little lights on it. It is a step up from the magic fingers feature at the No-tell Motel - and it doesn't take quarters. It does eat up D cell batteries.
Now for some pictures. Melissa got to meet her Aunt Florence last week. Yes, they are carbon copies. In a future post (that is, when Steven can get the scanner set back up) we will see how many of you can guess between two pictures which one is Lisa and which one is Melissa. Something to look forward to.
That flash is bright!!!
